Nowhere is this stronger than in our Community-Based Arts and Crafts Centers (CBCs).
The AWA is dedicated to honoring, aiding and supporting the Military, Veterans and First Responders who uphold the principles of our country and have chosen to unselfishly serve others and effect positive change in society. We recognize that the American Fighting Spirit is a cornerstone in the cultural foundation of our Nation, and that it continues to be a force for good.
We offer confidential help for Veterans, service members, and their families at no cost in a non-medical setting. Our services include counseling for needs such as depression, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the psychological effects of military sexual trauma (MST). We can also connect you with more support in VA and your community.
Dallas VA Medical Center provides primary care and specialty health services, including cardiology, mental health services, treatment for spinal cord injuries, suicide prevention, women’s health care, and more. Commencing at 11:00 a.m. November 10th at City Hall Plaza, the 11th Hour Ceremony will include: a symbolic wreath laying ceremony accompanied by Taps, a Missing Man Formation military fly over and patriotic comments from local civic and military leaders. Following the ceremonies, the colorful Massing of the Colors will be performed by area High School JROTC cadets. The parade starts at Houston and Young streets, continues up Main Street, across Ervay Street and passes in review in front of City Hall.
The Dallas County Veteran Services Office is an advocate agency established to assist veterans and/or their survivors obtain entitled benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the State of Texas.

NYC Department of Veterans Service
To honor the sacrifice of New York City Veterans, Mayor Bill de Blasio created the Department of Veterans' Services (DVS) on April 8th, 2016, making DVS the first standalone City agency in the country dedicated to serving Veterans and their families.
Since that time, the agency has moved rapidly to connect, mobilize, and empower New York City's Veteran community in order to foster purpose-driven lives for New York City Service Members – past and present – in addition to their caregivers, survivors, and families.
DVS fulfills this mission by providing New York City's Veterans with essential services and programs focused on pivotal areas such as economic empowerment, housing security, benefits, health and wellness, and culture.

The LSNYC Veterans Justice Project (VJP) provides comprehensive civil legal services to low-income military veterans, service members and their families. The VJP is designed to help veterans achieve greater housing and financial stability and connect veterans with social and mental health services in the City. We have partnerships with other non-profit organizations serving veterans and we collaborate with the VA Hospitals, Veterans Centers and housing programs throughout the City.
Robin Hood hosted the Robin Hood Veterans Summit, an all-day conference aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid, which brought together over 400 leaders from the military, veterans groups, non-profit organizations, local, state, and federal governments, and the media to discuss the challenges facing returning veterans and to highlight potential solutions that could be implemented on the local and national level.

Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles’ Veterans Justice Center is the oldest free legal services program for Veterans in Los Angeles County. We help Veterans obtain life-sustaining income, health, and housing benefits, and rebuild their lives through our full scope of critical legal services.
Wounded Warrior Homes Support Detail provides assistance at transitional homes, in the office, or at special events and fundraisers throughout San Diego County. The Borderplex Veteran Coalition Fund was established to support and nurture a system of organizations that provide holistic transition and reintegration services for the veterans of the Paso del Norte region. Their vision is to bridge the gap between the numerous Veteran Service Organizations, nonprofit organizations and the local/county/state/ federal government agencies in the region to ensure no Veteran, Transitioning Service Member or Military Family Member falls through the cracks.
NSF understands the importance of an informed and collective commitment to increased collaboration, meaningful and clear communication, and relevant education to improve the provision of behavioral health services to military members and their families.
The Navy SEAL Foundation (NSF) works with leading experts and treatment facilities committed to providing the most relevant and cutting edge education and practices regarding issues affecting the Naval Special Warfare community. These experts and evidence-based facilities consistently provide exceptional care with proven effectiveness. They also counter bad science practices and information; continue to unravel the effects of traumatic brain injury; and lead the way in suicide prevention, training, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

VA’s Houston Regional Office (RO) administers a variety of services, including Compensation, Education, Insurance, Loan Guaranty, Pension, and Veteran Readiness and Employment for Veterans, Servicemembers, their families and survivors in southern Texas
The Greater Houston area is home to more than 300,000 veterans, the second largest veteran population in the United States. Veterans returning home from service often find the transition from a structured military regimen to a less structured civilian life extremely difficult. They struggle to find employment, navigate the hiring process, and re-engage in careers that give them a sense of purpose. Veterans often report feelings of isolation, and strained relationships with family, friends and colleagues.
Founded in 1997, U.S.VETS — Houston has three facilities, located at Midtown, Fannin Street and Downtown. The Midtown location is the main hub for the programs, supplemented by the service center located at the Historic DeGeorge at Union Station. The Fannin Street location provides administrative support and services.
Each month, U.S.VETS — Houston interacts with over 1,100 veterans and their families on an annual basis. U.S.VETS is a proud member of the Military Veteran Peer Network.

ASVH-PHX serves the long-term care and rehabilitative needs of the veterans of Arizona, with energetic and caring staff whose members provide nursing, therapeutic recreation, and social services to those who have served our nation.
U.S.VETS – Phoenix has proudly served more than 10,000 veterans since 2001, providing housing, workforce development, and case management services.
Our current location at Grand Veterans Village is home to 152 veterans transitioning from homelessness to housing and 30 low-income rentals. This year we will be moving to a new location that will allow us to serve more veterans.

- Pawsitivisity Service Dogs
Pawsitivity Service Dogs for Veterans is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in St. Paul, Minnesota, EIN 47-1446634, founded in 2012. We train service dogs for U.S. military veterans with PTSD and other disabilities.
The Military and Veteran Affairs Department is an inclusive department that works with a number of military-related organizations that support San Antonio’s military community and partners with Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) to engage and sustain JBSA’s mission readiness and ensure the long-term protection of San Antonio’s Military bases. The department works with all military families, active duty, retirees and approximately 250,000 veterans; and spearheads the City’s Commission on Veterans Affairs; the City’s Military Transformation Task Force (MTTF), is a designated Hidden Hero’s program and San Antonio’s register trademark of Military City, USA®.

Focus will receive a response usually within 24 hours, no matter when the crisis or need occurs. And we will stay with you all the way until the situation is resolved!
Veterans in need of food support can register now to get approximately 75 lbs. of groceries, at no cost. Volunteers always needed to package and hand out the food.
